Doll Making At Home.

When looking for a fulfilling project or hobby to do at home doll making should be a consideration. The materials are readily available, and there are web sites that offer free patterns, tips, and tricks to make your dolls beautiful and enjoyable to make. The best thing is that it doesn’t have to be expensive to do. If you put forth a little bit of time and energy, you could have a beautiful doll ready to be admired.

Whether you are an avid doll maker or this is your first time there are some questions to ask yourself when making your dolls at home: Do I want to make a doll from scratch? Do I want cloth or porcelain piece? Can I use an old doll and fix it up? Once you have answered these questions you are ready to go. The only thing you have to think about now is the size of the doll. You could have a mini sized doll that stands about eight inches, or you could have a life sized doll that stands the height of a toddler. The considerations on size would then lead to clothing. Life sized dolls don’t require sewing new clothes, as they fit into toddler clothing.

So, you have decided on your doll materials, and size, but what about style? There are many to choose from. Your doll could have the buttery and rosy look, the simple porcelain white, the wide eyed child like face, or it could have a new fad look like anime.

Whatever you choose to make, the most important thing to remember is to enjoy the experience; do your research, learn throughout the process, pick up tricks and tips, and share your creations with your friends.
