First Time Babysitting

What are the rules when you are babysitting? Why would you want to babysit for if there are rules about what you can and can not do. What are the things you have to do when you watch someones kids?  A big part of babysitting involves playing with kids and keeping them entertained. This helps both the kids in your care and you. Having happy kids while you are babysitting is a lot better than having them cry and wine all the time. There are things you can bring along with you, when you get ready to go babysit, like a special board game, or some movies that the kids might like, maybe a card game that is age apporiate and everyone might enjoy. The kids really like it when you play games with them because you are paying attention to them. The bigger kids like a babysitter that has some fun planned they can do, they can get bored pretty easy. There are some things that you need to let the kids know as soon as you can, (and this is the most important) you want them to know that you are the boss while their parents are away, and that there are limits to what you expect of them. Like when they act up, or they are fighting, or just will not pay attention to you. Remember that you can never hit the child or push the kids. If you are lucky you will have a very rewarding time.
