Dad

My grandad and grandma had a trucking business in a place called Durango, CO and they had a son, my father they called him Byron, Tiny or just what ever came to mind I guess. Well when he was about sixteen years old he join the service yes he was only sixteen but he was a big boy. So anyway he fought in the Korean war and World war ll, he was in the Philippians, he was even an champion boxer over there anyways. When he was doing that some of his buddies would write to the what as then called the Lonely Hearts Club, where that is how my day met my mom, the guys would write the letters and send them to her she would respond all the time thinking it was my dad writing the letters. He got a leave and so he had no choose but to go met my mom as he did not want to hurt this lady they had been writing to so that is what he did, they did get a long well so then he had to go back. Well when he was about ready to get out he wrote and asked her to marry him so she did and she followed him around where ever he went. It was funny because when they went on the few dates her brother and sisters had to go and this one had a hearing aide so she would turn up the volume so she could here what he was saying it was funny. Then when they got married and was leaving town Friday July 13, 1951 the car broke down in town so instead of going back to her parents they stayed in a motel and no one knew, they but the car in the ally.
