Mounting Deer Head

What makes the deer or elk head worth mounting, the cape was done properly and the horns are pretty big. A couple of years ago my husband killed a pretty good deer so he decide to have it mounted. Well that was fine except our ceiling are not that high so he is now attached to the wall in the living room and it is not much taller then I am but that is ok because he loves it. To get this thing done we had to make sure that the cape was cut from the deer properly and then we had to take it to someone that know how to do it. Well we got that done it did take about an year do get it back but he may have had others to do. It did cost us $450.00, I did not think that was so bad but maybe it was for others.
They have like a plastic sculptor that is like a head and then you get the eyes and all other parts and attach them to this deer head they do have to make sure the mouth and eyes and ears are just right so that when they mount the horns they all look well. You can not wash it or any of that because it could make the hair come off. You should make sure it is clean all the time that way it does not get build up from the dirt and all. When they are done with it, it does look very real.
